One of the speakers of the said event was Atty. Rosario S. Bernaldo, founder and managing partner of R.S. Bernaldo & Associates an audit, accounting and business consultancy firm providing a full range of professional services such as accounting and auditing, taxation, corporate services, and management and financial consulting. Atty. Bernaldo and other speakers discussed how the accountants in the future should be, how to regain public confidence in the accounting profession, and the impact of socio-politics on the profession.

Since 1978, AFA has held various international accounting conferences. It first started here in the Philippines and to date, two rounds have been completed. The 11th AFA Conference was held in Davao City on November 23 to 29, 1999, hosted by the Philippine Institute of CPAs (PICPA).

The recently concluded conference was attended by approximately 1,500 delegates who exchanged views and ideas on various current accounting and audit issues. Pre-and Post-Conference Tours, exhibitions and academic fairs completed the program.
